Canadian Regionalism and Provincialism

This is an excerpt from the paper...

Canada is a nation divided into separate entities around issues of regionalism and provincialism. Canadians in general do not trust their federal government and place more faith in the governments of the different provinces. Regionalism developed early in Canadian history and has become entrenched with the creation of the Confederation. Canada evolved over time as an independent nation while being part of the British Commonwealth. The provinces were unified into the Dominion of canada in 1867. Canadians are very interested in the media and watch a lot of television. They also listen to a lot of radio, and Canada is one of the few countries where there are more radios than people. Another problem is that people in the northern remote areas are few and far between and so are difficult to serve. The need to serve these people is why there is a mixed service system in Canada. The incursion of American programming has also spurred the government to pro
