Staffing objectives and corporate objectives should go hand in hand to achieve the highest results. If SMC's recruiting policy is to only hire local staff, options will be limited to achieve their 100% increase in productivity objective. For now, the challenge for SMC lies within the current infrastructure: local labor available in town has a greater minority group and 90% of SMC's staff is white. To counterbalance corporate objectives of creating a balanced and fair atmosphere, it might be effective to develop a policy or form a diversity committee and determine what areas to need to diversify to accomplish the goals set by the committee.
