Bermuda triangle
This is an excerpt from the paper...
As unique and mysterious as any occult-oriented myth in American history, the Bermuda Triangle, or Devil’s Triangle as it is often known, is the site where many ships, planes and boats have disappeared under mysterious and unexplained circumstances. While there is much evidence to support that the Bermuda Triangle mystery is a fabrication, there are also others who feel that the mystery is a valid one. What is valid is the fact that many disappearances that have occurred have not been explained, even though the explanation for a few of the disappearances have come to light, “It is the stuff of legends, pulp novels and late-night reruns of the Twilight Zone: a 140,000 square mile stretch of the Atlantic Ocean that seems to swallow unfortunate voyagers like a space-time warp. During the past 45 years, more than 100 ships and planes have disappeared in the triangular region-roughly bounded by Bermuda, Southern Florida and the Greater Antilles-often in circumstances as murky and mysterious as the storm-tossed sea itself,” (Time, 1991: 1). This discussion and analysis will explore the Bermuda Triangle and the mysterious disappearances that have occurred there. Those mysterious accidents that have been explained will be addressed, as well as those which still remain a mystery despite efforts to understand the cause of their disappearance. The movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, asks us to believe that the disappearance of

While there are many stories and myths like the above, there is a great deal of support for the fact that the Bermuda Triangle is no more occult, nor no more dangerous than any other large body of ocean water. There are many logical explanations for what may have happened to most of these supposed mysteries. There are a great deal of natural causes that could cause the disappearance of ships, planes or boats in the sea. Yet, most of the reports on the disappearances sought to eliminate natural occurrences as the causative factor, The reports of these disappearances quickly eliminated possible logical causes, such as bad weather, mechanical problems, and human error, and instead attributed the losses to strange unknown forces, such as supposed underwater volcanoes, undiscovered magnetic forces, time-warps, death rays from Atlantis, or UFO’s from outer space or from hidden ocean caverns. However, no such fanciful explanation of the disappearances is need
