In response to your request an evaluation of our firm, Brithinee Electric, was conducted to determine the strategic issues and problems within and surrounding the company. This consisted of a review of the external environment, a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis incorporating identification of factors which drive the business, a determination of the company’s financial condition and performance, and consideration of ethical and social responsibilities. Attached for consideration is a Business Report containing discussion of the preceding, as well as numerous conclusions and recommendations with justification for each.

Brithinee should meet the ISO 9000 standards. This would make the company more visible and more competitive in the electrical apparatus industry.

Throughout the 1980s, sales of new electric motors grew at a 20 percent average compound rate. As the industry moved into the 1990s, growth slowed and the market matured. Motor prices came down, and electric motor reliability went up. By the late 1990s, competition heated up to the point where 12 out of 13 of Toshiba’s top distributors of variable-frequency drives were selling fewer new motors.
