Piaget’s theory of development is also aligned with Christian perspective in that the authors argue parents should not expect children that are too young to be able to make a decision regarding the acceptance of Christ, much like in the chapter on brain development they believed some concepts of Christianity may not be comprehended by individuals who have not yet developed some aspects of their brain, “Most children raised in godly homes have a natural curiosity and interest in becoming Christians, but parents should not expect a decision for Christ until later.”
Adolescent and Adult Development
The stages of adolescent and adult development covered in this chapter are also redirected as being an affirmation of Christian values and concepts, or, of at least being useful to promote them.
