The larceny section of the NYS PL originally covered computer crime. The larceny articles proved inadequate as technology rapidly evolved. With this new legislation written, law enforcement agencies could now mount cases against criminals that use computers in the commission of a crime. This research will provide a brief history on the evolution of computer crime along with an explanation of related terms.
