There were many differences between early modern European society and modern society, despite there being many similarities like the gulf between rich and poor and warfare as a mode of commerce. Still, if we examine three aspects of early modern European society, we see that many aspects of life were far different for Europeans then than they are for those of us living in modern society.Marriage and marriage arrangements were extremely different in early modern European society than they are in modern society, even though there were some similarities. However, we no longer believe in marriage contracts whereby young girls are basically sold into marriage for either riches or to acquire a noble name.
