As American corporations begin to complete their straddling of the globe, like some archetypal, omnipotent, symbol of democratic-capitalism conjuring up the Colossus of Rhodes, another evolution is also occurring. There is an attempt to create a unified, homogenistic world culture, one largely based on the same socio-economic stratification representative of American society. While the upshot of capitalism and democracy may be that they have represented one of the few effective governments in history, even civilizations that have adopted this form successfully, have ended up deteriorating from stagnant and impoverished infrastructure.
