The company exports a variety of automobile parts, but specializes in supplying parts to auto repair chain stores and mom-and-pop automotive repair shops. The company has many competitors in the automobile parts industry, but its ability to use innovative strategies and information technology enable it to remain competitive. During the internship the intern is able to test the theories, concepts, and methods learned in the classroom. Such an application in the real-world environment enables the intern to assess and reflect on the interface of theory and practice. Internships are an excellent method of gaining real work experience in the intern’s area of interest.
