Founded in February 1982, today Sun Microsystems is a leading provider of industrial strength hardware, software and services with more than 35,700 employees worldwide and revenues of $12.5 billion in fiscal 2002 (Investor 2003). Sun is currently ranked 112 on the Fortune 500 index and its current stock price as of June 27, 2003 was $15.72 (Investor 2003).
