The Mopar group is the spare parts division for the Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler. Mopar is the primary distributor of parts and accessories for all Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships in North America. Mopar manages more than 280,000 parts from more than 3,000 suppliers and processes more than 220,000 parts orders for dealers each day. SeeCommerce is a provider of supply chain performance management and improvement software programs. SeeCommerce enables supply chain managers to continuously manage and improve business performance across complex supply chains.

Mopar's implementation several years ago of SeeCommerce was a success. Mopar went to an outside supplier because its own IT department indicated it would take at least a year to complete the assignment in house. Within three months of implementation of SeeCommerce by Mopar, the fill rate had improved from 94 percent to 98.5 percent. This improved fill rate represented annual savings of about $10 million in transportation costs, in addition to improving customer service and increasing market share. Mopar also expected to save tens of millions of dollars more each year by reducing the levels of safety-stock inventory. The SeeCommerce software gives Mopar seventeen inventory management measurements, twelve forecast demand measurement tools and thirty supplier performance measurements.
