Germs in the Workplace

Workplace employees are suffering some illnesses from work, such as colds, allergies, flu, arthritis, fever, and headache. Those problems make employees report in sick to managers for everyday work. All those illnesses are obtained from germs in the workplace and are causing estimated billions of dollars in business losses annually. On the job, productivity losses due to absenteeism are very high and employers spend money for worker illnesses and disability benefits. For conditions such as allergies and headaches, on the job productivity losses could account for a lot of percentage of employer's total illness costs. Employees are facing germs everyday within any indoor workplace environment. Especially, the fumes and residues of conventional cleaning chemicals, are ultimately affecting the health and safety of individuals within a building. Mostly children, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly have faced these problems. People lose their voices during a day without any reason, experience dizziness without cause; and leave work with migraine headaches everyday. My proposal will be for workplace managers to decentralize tasks in order for employees to come up with some input for managers and employees to seek some alternatives to resolve these problems. Managers and employees have to work together to implement a daily health and safety á cleaning program to resolve many of these issues and defuse various awkward situations.áWhen the workplace managers are presently decentralized the workplace facilities will experience positive results because fewer employees will be obtaining germs. And business will spend less money for medical and disability benefits.

Managers should come out with complete cleaning programs that will represent the most sensible approaches for delivering results and cost savings against toxic and hazardous agents in order to protect employees and workplace environment. Today hea...
