Many people have a very limited sense of the responsibilities of a Human Resources department, imagining that it consists of a clerical staff whose job it is to distribute employee handbooks and to let people know how many vacation days they have accrued. But in reality, the modern human resources department has a wide range of responsibilities and can affect the overall efficiency and productivity of an organization. This is certainly true of the human resources department within the Los Angeles Community College District.
