This is an excerpt from the paper...
Subject: Analysis of University Van Pool CaseThis analysis focuses on Question #3 of the five case questions. Question #3 requires the following: Using the computerized data set called Commute, demonstrate that you can perform descriptive analyses such as calculation of frequency, distributions, and calculation of means. The work required to answer the above question was performed using the SPSS statistical application program. In answering Question #3, three specific issues were emphasized. These issues are as follows: The general commuting situation of Oklahoma State University students Student attitudes about commuting, and The demographic profile of the survey respondents The data required to analyze the above issues were provided in a case data file prepared in SPSS format. The results of the data analyzes provide the basis for answering Question #3. Results are presented separately in relation to the three issues emphasized, beginning with the demographic profile of the survey respondents. The second results presentation deals with student attitudes toward commuting, and the general commuting situation of the students at Oklahoma State University is addressed in the third results presentation. The mean age of the respondents was 24.8 years. The frequency distribution analysis found that 47.8 percent of the respondents were in the 20-through-23 year old age bracket. There were more males (57.8 percent) than there were females among the respondents. Most respondents (53.6 percent) were unmarried.
The mean value for educational finance of 1.8 was not especially meaningful, because there is no hierarchical order to the classifications. The frequency distribution analysis disclosed that 59.8 percent of the respondents funded their own educations, while 22.8 percent of the respondents relied on their parents for funding, and the remaining 17.4 percent of the respondents relied on a variety of funding sources.
Student Attitudes Toward Commuting
The analysis of student attitudes toward commuting was based on responses to survey item numbers seven-through-22. The items structure of these 16 items was suc
