They offer free shipping with orders over $99 and under 20 lbs.

The company was founded in June, 1997 in Aliso Viejo, California by Scott Blum, and went public in January, 2000. In March, 2000, buy.com Ltd was launched in the United Kingdom as a multi-category online retailer of computer hardware and software, digital equipment, networking, office supplies, mailing and shipping, presentation and planning, writing and graphics, janitorial supplies, and consumables. When it opened, it had an inventory of 30,000 different products with a "lowest price" guarantee and unparalleled customer service. In December, 2000, it was the fourth most visited department site with over 550,000 visitors, according to Netvalue research.

In November 2000, Forrester Research, Inc. ranked buy.com No.1 electronics retailer in their Powerrankings. In 2001, Forbes ranked buy.com the "Best of the Web" for its unbeatable prices, speed of delivery and easy-to-navigate setup.
