5th Class: Dewey and the Progressive/Pragmatic View Architects of the intellect "design exquisite learning experiences for eager minds" (Fogarty 1999 76). This article, more or less in praise of John Dewey's attempt to move learning out of the classroom and into field experiences, pre-supposes that the "minds" of students are truly "eager".
