Since literature regarding effects of religiosity on attitudes toward homosexuality pointed out that results are not conclusive, further study regarding the issue is needed. A questionnaire was therefore developed to survey CSUN students regarding this topic, and resulting data will be statistically analyzed. College students with a higher categorical level of religiosity are more likely to oppose homosexuality. The independent variable for this study is categorical level of religiosity. The dependent variable for this study is the categorical level of attitude toward homosexuality. Religiosity. For this study, religiosity is nominally defined as the belief in and reverence for a supreme, supernatural being or beings, often expressed by worship, ritual, and a certain way of life. The level of religiosity is operationally defined by the Survey Instrument. Attitudes Toward Homosexuality. For this study, attitudes toward homosexuality is nominally defined as attitudes toward an individual who currently has or has had sexual relations with a member of the same sex.
