The plot summary in P.J. Hogan's 1997 romantic comedy film My Best Friend's Wedding, revolved around two friends, Michael O'Neal played by Dermot Mulroney and Julianne "Jules" Potter played by Julia Roberts (Zucker & Bass). They made a pact to marry each other if they were not engaged by the time they reach the age of twenty-eight. However, Jules's stylistic performance as the secret villian unfolded when Michael announced his engagment to another woman, Kimmy, played by Cameron Diaz. This abrupt announcement led Julianne to realize her love for her best friend and to resort to underhanded sabotage in order to stop the wedding at any cost. She attempted to corrupt Kimmy's innocence by shattering the idealistic bond between Kimmy and the romantic super-hero. Ultimately, her poor judgment is made clear by her confidant, George, played by Rupert Everret. This comedy is about finding one's heart and losing one's head and how the impending disaster could be avoided by simple honesty.
