The Louvre museum in France is accessible by a virtual tour on the web. You can tour through the various galleries and exhibits, read the history of the Louvre, and get information on opening hours, ticket reservations etc. The site lists events, activities, classes, etc., but all in French, so a knowledge of the language is necessary to use this site meaningfully. There are also images of the architecture of the Louvre, including the Pyramid designed by I.M. Pei. The museum has a database known as Atlas, which is available to researchers, and allows consultation of all the works of art exhibited at the Louvre, showing the information normally seen by visitors on the labels next to the works of art in the museum.
