Over the past 10 years, abuses of the Medicare system have mushroomed. Abuses of the system occurred prior to the 1990s, however, not at the rate that has been prevalent in recent years. This paper identifies some of the more rampant abuses of the Medicare program, and indicates what the Cleveland Clinic can do to combat such abuses.The Cleveland Clinic is one of the largest and most diverse (within the context of health care services provided) medical institutions in the world.
