Developing an Unscale Coffee Shop in Kuwait

This is an excerpt from the paper...

The feasibility of developing an upscale coffee shop in Kuwait warrants data that indicates special measures need to be involved in the enterprise for the investment to become profitable. The intentions of this coffee shop (with upscale pricing and amenities not usually found in "ordinary" coffee shop/restaurants) can only be accepted by the public, in turn increasing patronage and thereby, turning an eventual profit. Therefore, the development, the funding, and the intentions of management must be to create something that has literally no competition.

At present only generalized and incomplete data is available from a number of sources. However, the proposals as explained in the following pages, can create a cachet that defies imitation and will create customer interest, demand, and patronage from the very outset. The constituents of this proposed venture, La Tasse D'Or (The Gold Cup) require offering amenities that competition (if any on this level) does not now offer, and which makes upscale pricing worthwhile and acceptable. As will be demonstrated, the creation of a private "club" venture, and a small, separate space for general public, can build reputation, customer base, and continued customer visits. The important aspect is that there is now no competition for this project.

La Tasse D'Or will offer concierge service to cover every need of its members, from travel, shopping, valet and garage service or automobile repairs, to facilities for massage and a steam room located within the building itself. In order to facilitate construction, licensing, and management controls (including formation of a private Kuwaiti corporation) the principal or principals would first form such a company with stock issued in their names. There would be an election of officers (assuming more than one principal is involved), and an agreement on design, fixtures, investment amounts, selection of the bank and a credit line. Even before excavation begins and plans are approved, the company principals must agree on the financial terms for membership: At this point, the fee for exclusive charter membership is $50,000 (American dollars, convertible to dinars), and a monthly service fee of $1,000.
