Jesus Christ is a historical figure known all around the world. He was a great teacher and preached in temples to spread the message of God. There is more to Jesus Christ, though, as he became not only an important religious figure in his own time, but one of the most important figures in religion of all time. In fact, to this day, there are millions of people across the globe who believe that Jesus was the son of God and the savior of all mankind. People of the Christian religion believe that Jesus died for their sins, and therefore brought them salvation and the promise of everlasting life after they die.
While he lived, Jesus' mission was clear. He wanted to preach the word of God so that it reached as many people as possible. He wanted to teach lessons of morality as well, such as 'turn the other cheek' when one is attacked, and "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" when judging other people's behavior. Jesus believed that people should be kind and merciful, as God Himself was. More importantly, though, Jesus Christ wanted to save the sinners of the world. He knew that this meant dying on the cross so that he could make up for all the sins of humanity, but he did so because he wanted to bring about eternal life for the people of the world. In the most basic sense, Jesus Christ's mission was to deliver salvation for all of God's children.
Thus, it is obvious that even if one is not a Christian, Jesus Christ is probably the most significant figure in history. He has greatly influenced religious thought, and shaped ideas about morality also. Without a doubt, Jesus Christ is a remarkable and important figure. The fact that he is still so influential over two thousand years after his death is definitely a sign of that.
