Tracking vs. Detracking
This is an excerpt from the paper...
The theory behind tracking is that grouping students according to their skill levels improves their achievement by meeting their individual needs: they are not held back by students who are working at a slower pace, nor pushed ahead by students whose skills are advanced (Gahala). Detracking means eliminating any form of tracking so all students have equal access to all the resources the school has to offer such as library, computers, field trips, and cocurricular activities.
