The proposed methodology for the investigation of the problem is an empirical research design that will measure and assess both (1) objective data pertaining to actual student behaviors at both schools with and without student uniform policies and (2) survey data reflecting student perceptions of safety within the school environments. Purpose of the Study The purpose of the proposed study will be twofold. The first objective of the proposed study will be to analyze variations in the frequency and severity of student violent and other criminal behaviors (as dependent variables) at schools with and without student uniform policies and programs (as an independent variable).
