The objective of this study was to evaluate the productivity of Kenyan farming operations headed by female managers in relation to those headed by male managers. For purposes of this study, a farm manager was defined as a person who makes decisions related to staffing, the allocation of labor time, coordinating and overseeing daytoday farming operations, resource acquisition and application, and finance and credit.The researcher recognized that a number of intervening variables may affect the productivity of farming operations, regardless of whether farm managers are male or female.
