5. The head teacher has mentioned to me before today's observation that Molly is one of three children. A brother is seven and a sister, Alison, is ten. The family has a cat named Morris.

Molly has been referred to this resource room by the regular kindergarten teacher because in recent weeks she has been crying more than one would expect in the course of a normal kindergarten situation. It has been determined through testing that there is nothing psychologically or medically wrong with the child. It seems that the family is merely experiencing stress of some sort and Molly is vulnerable as she is adjusting. The school team has decided to include Molly in the resource room activities for a few weeks for the duration of the family's temporary stress. Everyone
