1. Microcomputers can assist me in my career in childhood education in several ways. Computers can be used as they are with any business--for record-keeping in a more efficient and organized manner, something that is very important in teaching. The computer can make it possible to keep more extensive records in each pupil in a way that allows for comparisons, for analysis, and for finding data quickly.The microcomputer also provides access to massive amounts of information on teaching and learning, and any research that needs to be undertaken can be accomplished quickly and efficiently with the computer. No one can keep up on all of the articles and research being published in this field, and the computer allows access just to that data that one needs for a specific purpose. The microcomputer will be used more and more as a teaching aid, guiding pupils through different subject matter with programmed instruction. This also means that younger and younger children will be computer literate, and it is necessary that the teacher be computer literate as well. Pupils will be exposed to computers both at home and at school, and they will be far better prepared for using them for learning, for playing, and for expanding their reach into the information available about their world.
