Further, indications are that women are at greater risk for developing PTSD than men (Breslau, Davis, Andreski & Peterson, 1997) which makes them an especially important group for study. Grinage (2003) notes that treatment is multidimensional and commonly includes psychotherapy and pscychopharmacological intervention with SSRIs.
