Corvette vs Ford Mustang

It was a tight race to the end comparing the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette vs the Ford SVT Mustang for Motor Trend magazines raters (Motor Trend). Chevrolet was celebrating its 50th year of the Corvette, and Ford had its first completely new version of the Mustang since 1979 on the drawing board. The two softtops both came out winners, with little to choose between them. The SVT is the most powerful Mustang Cobra ever produced with 390 horsepower and an equal amount of twist on the rear wheels. It has more horsepower (+40) than the Corvette, and 15 lb ft more torque. There was more shake to the Corvette windshield over rough road too, but both leaked a little in the carwash. Both have glass rear windows with the top up, but the visibility was better in the Mustang, and its rear window is heated. The Corvette is only a two seater (the Mustang holds four), but took less wind buffeting on the road (Motor trend).
