The data collection instrument simply did not provide a valid measurement of the effectiveness and efficiency of a student in identifying and locating sources for a specific research topic, although the researchers implied an assumption to this effect. RESEARCH DESIGN, AND DATA ANALYSIS The researchers employed an experimental research design, in which different students were exposed to the two approaches to instructionterm paper counseling, and group instruction compared in the research study reported in the article.
