Moreover, it was found that the class greatly encouraged a spirit of collaboration among all participants. Such characteristics are contributive not only to class participants but to all those they communicate with following the class and thus contributive to society as a whole.

Kemp (1989) has stated that even when curricula are centered on job skills, at its heart, self development education can be characterized as a personal development process in which individuals learn to improve their abilities to act and reflect on the world and themselves. By improving such abilities, self development education is relevant to society in psychological terms, helping people not only on the job but also in terms of using their minds and their skills to live more satisfying and personally meaningful lives.

In summary then, self development education contributes greatly to society by assisting people to improve their lot in terms of both work-related and psychosocial concerns.
