The undertaken study examined the impact of immigration on the mental health of a sample of Central Americafemale immigrants. It was predicted that most illegal female immigrants from Hispanic countries are likely to experience psychoemotional trauma (depression) as a result of changes associated with changing cultures, and that the psychoemotional trauma (depression) experienced as the result of changing cultures could be either heightened or reduced by several background and/or demographic variables of immigrants.
