It can help in new product introduction, transfer production data from site to site, provide an environment for printed circuit board manufacturing from equipment control to repair loop management. It can generate Multiplant Key Performance Indicators, which will show each plants cost and quality metrics relative to other plants, and provide an integrated view of worldwide manufacturing operations needed to make informed demand allocation and product sourcing.
Visprise gives PLM support critical in the electronic design phase, and stores product specifications, performance criteria, and quality (Visiprise, 2003). It has many other support programs, so that the whole process can be controlled from beginning to end and quality maintained. Control/command mechanisms will develop over time as the joint partners learn to work together, and learn each other's styles (Inkpen and Curall, 2004, 586-599).
