Montgomery Country Schools

To make sure all students in the Montgomery County School District receive the same quality of education and reach the same education standard, it will first be necessary to find out what the students at each level need to know and be able to do, and then find out why some students are not meeting these standards (Montgomery). To do this, County-wide testing standards will be employed. If the teaching is not up to standard, then the teachers must be held accountable. They will be given a probationary period in which to remedy the problem, and if they cannot do so, they will be replaced. If students are up to standard, then we know that they have competent teachers, and we can use those teachers as role models and adopt their methods for classes who are underperforming.

We recognize that not all students have the same intelligence capabilities, but this will be factored into the scoring of the test results so that we can give extra emphasis to those students and push them as far as we can to realize their potential. We also recognize that there are cultural differences in learning motivation which must be addressed and factored into whatever measures are taken. Appropriate methods must be found to motivate children from other than white American background.

Curricula and instruction can be developed and refined using tested and published approaches and networking with peers and other resources may give new insights into how the problems can be solved (School). Expertise and resources can be shard across traditional geographical boundaries.
