Assisted Technology Sites

Looking at the sites for Assisted Technology, their importance depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for products to purchase, then sites such as the AbilityHub provides information on equipment dealing with all types of disabilities, and is a site for parentis, teachers or students (AbilityHub). The CTAP site is a resource site for California teachers, with information on professional development, and offering technical support for schools and teachers (CTAP). The Alliance for Technology Access site is a network of community-based resources centers, developers, vendors and associated business which provide information and support services for people with disabilities (The Alliance). The site for CODI is also very useful because it provides free online training in assistive technology for students with disabilities (CODI). The training focuses on adaptive computing.

The other sources were not of as much practical use. ATNetwork is a journal, so unless there are articles dealing with a topic in which you are interested, it is not as helpful (ATNetwork). CAST is also a journal so the same applies here (CAST). EASI is an online training site for accessible information technology for the disabled so is useful for those wishing to learn the technology online (EASI). They also publish an e-journal. However, if you are a disabled person looking for somewhere to learn about accessible information technology, this site may be helpful.
