1.Miracle Healing. What point does it make?
As delineated by Windsor (1987), miracle healing refers to a paranormal event in which bodily healing takes place through mental/spiritual processes involving at least some faith and an honest and complete desire to be healed.
Windsor divides miracle healings into two categories. The first category is what she refers to as "Absent Healing." In such cases, one appears to be healed by another who is not in proximity to the individual who is ill. In fact, the healer need not even know the patient.
The second category of miracle healing is referred to by Windsor as "Contact Healing." In these cases, the individual doing the healing is in close contact with the person who is ill. The most common type of Contact Healing is in the "laying on of hands," discussed in the Bible.
The faith process Windsor discusses as part of the miracle healing is not of a large magnitude. One need not absolutely believe he or she will be healed; all that is necessary is that one suspend judgement sufficiently so as to believe that paranormal healing is at least possible.
2.Partnership Healing. What does it mean? How does Terry's story illustrate this?
Partnership healing does not view paranormal healing processes as antipathetical to medical healing processes. Rather, the person who is ill would combine the two perspectives of treatments using a sort of double-barreled approach to the illness.
Regarding the story of Terry, this is a testimony of a young man who listened to the advice of both his medical doctors and his alternative healing doctor, viewing both sources of healing as aligned in a sort of partnership to work toward the common goal of getting him well. It is important to note that faith also enters into partnership healing.
