This chapter describes the research findings of the study as follows: the general description of the sample demographics followed by the results of the data relating to the correlation between parent involvement and child academic performance, the effects of demographics on parental involvement, and post hoc analysis.Descriptive statistical analysis of the demographic and informational variables (gender, age, level of education, marital status, income, and number of children) included a frequency distribution. The sample consisted of 50 participants. Participant Background Information. Equal numbers of males and females participated in the study (Table 1). Most subjects were either aged 30-40 (46 percent) or 41-50 (46 percent), with 8 percent ages 51-60 (Table 2). Regarding education levels: 36% reported having a high school diploma or GED, 28% had a BA or BS, 22% had an Associate Degree, 8% had a Master's Degree, and 6% had less than high school (Table 3). Most participants reported their marital status as married (40 percent), 22 percent reported being single and 22 percent reported being divorced, 10 percent reported as legally separated, and 6 percent were widowed (Table 4).
