THE POLITICAL EVOLUTION OF RUSSIA AFTER 1919

This research traces and discusses the political evolution of Russia after 1917, the year of the Russian Revolution. While political evolution is a principal focus of this research, economic evolution is discussed conjointly. The political and economic development of Russia was in fact largely the development of the successor statethe Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which disintegrated in 1991. Tracing and discussing the political and economic evolution of Russia and the Soviet Union subsequent to 1917 requires some attention to pre 1917 Russia to provide perspective.
