Michel de Certeau is a philosopher who was Directeur dÆEtudes at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes et Sciences Sociales in Paris and a visiting professor at the University of California, San Diego. De CerteauÆs (1994) The Practice of Everyday Life revolves around a focus on ôpower,ö the means by which powerful forces of commerce, politics, and culture impact the ordinary individual.
