Isaac Newton - Mysticism
This is an excerpt from the paper...
Isaac Newton is generally considered one of the greatest scientists in history. The Newtonian world machine û the mechanistic view of the universe that he developed û identified the universe as three-dimensional, an absolute space independent of the physical phenomena within it. The elements of the Newtonian world which moved in this absolute space and absolute time were material particles, or small, solid and independent objects out of which all matter was made. Atomistic in nature, Newton believed all particles were made of the same material substance in contrast to contemporary atomistic theories. NewtonÆs theory of universal gravity undermined the picture of the world held previously, one that was moved by the unseen but always present hand of God. Man was no longer considered the occupant of the center of a universe created for him
