The Alberto's Experience

One of my favorite restaurants is located in Central Pennsylvania, where my uncle resides. When we visit my uncle, he takes us to dinner at Alberto's, an Italian restaurant. Alberto's is not merely a restaurant. It features a piano bar with live entertainment, typically one or two singers who sing classic songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis, and a number of other great artists. The cuisine is upscale and the atmosphere is enhanced by a wine cellar with seating, hnside a basement tunnel that has wrought iron doors. Alberto's is not a restaurant where one merely goes to eat a nice meal; it is an evening of entertainment and an experience.

When we visit my uncle in Pennsylvania, he always makes a reservation for my family and him to dine at Alberto's. Alberto's offers not just a feast for the stomach but also a feast for the sense. When one arrives, the valet parkers greet guests in a welcome and enthusiastic manner. Once we drop off our vehicle, we enter the lobby of the restaurant where we check our coats and are greeted by the professional host. All of the employees at Alberto's are Italian and they are older, professional service staff. My uncle always arranges for us to be seated at a table between the bar and the piano, so we can enjoy the view of the downtown streets from the front windows, while being close to the entertainment.
