Critical Thinking Assessment

I believe my thinking across all domains of my life is above average of quality but still needs improvement. I based this on the fact that I am an above average student and have mastered a number of basic of critical thinking, despite having others which require further development. I think I think well in the following areas: a) perspective and position, b) biases and assumptions, c) alternate responses. I think that in the following areas of thinking I am: (a) o.k. (ration), (b) not great (value judgments), and (c) not terrible (alternate solutions). My thinking is, however, quite poor with respect to logical fallacies.

I believe I am an excellent critical thinker when it comes to perspective and position, because I often find support for my position and draw from my experience to properly identify and define my own perspective and position in a factual manner. I also believe that I think well with respect to biases and assumptions, because I have trained myself to understand that bias and assumption are the death of logical thought and skewer conclusions. For example, I often search for unstated assumptions in any proposed response I might offer. I also believe I think well with respect to alternate responses, because being aware of bias and assumption often makes me seek alternate responses that are free of such aspects the derail critical thought.

I believe I am o.k. when it comes to overall use of ration, because I know my emotions often get in the way of being totally rational. I believe I am not great at making value judgments, because I am hypersensitive to value judgments as I believe they can be a basis for prejudice and discrimination. As such, I am remiss to make value judgments as I view all value judgments as socially constructed.
