Situational Crime Prevention

Situational crime prevention "is focused on the settings for crime rather than on persons committing criminal acts" (104). Its objective is "to make criminal action less attractive to offenders" (104). There are four situational crime prevention methods that could be used to reduce the incidence of crime on campus, particularly from the Graham Center bookstore: target hardening, entry/exit screening, removal of temptation, and rule setting.
