There are many contexts of predatory crimes, but four of the most common are vehicle-related thefts, sexual offenses, burglary, and robbery (Miles, 4). Vehicle-related thefts include car, truck, motorcycle, trailer, and bicycle thefts, as well as carjacking (McYoung & Gordon). Preventing vehicle-related thefts is largely a matter of securing the vehicles so that they are more difficult to steal. Vehicles should always be parked inside a locked garage, where access to them is difficult, or in the driveway, where access to them is visible; installing a car alarm and/or motion sensor is also a theft deterrent (McYoung & Gordon). Trailers should be secured to an anchor or wheel-locked; bikes and motorcycles should be chained to something massive, like a large tree, and locked with keyed locks (McYoung & Gordon). There are additional measures that will be helpful in the event that the vehicle is stolen in spite of preventive measures, such as having theft insurance and having a Lojack/Onstar type of service installed in the vehicle so that its location can
