In the movie ôHotel Rwanda,ö a picture of society and the ways it organizes itself is portrayed in terms of the very real Rwandan genocide of the 1990Æs. The conflict between the Hutus and the Tutsis, two Rwandan ethnic groups, started with British colonialism, when the British showed favoritism to the Tutsis because they were taller and thinner, traits that the British perceived to denote superiority (Lovgren).
