The research questions are as follows:
1. What are the outcomes for Hispanic adults that receive outpatient mental health services via King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency Services Division (reduction in psychiatric symptomology, increased level of functioning, increased employment, and increased age appropriate activity levels) by the end of the one-year benefits period?
2. How do the mental health outcomes of Hispanic adult outpatients compare to those of Caucasian adult outpatients?
3. How do biopsychosocial, cultural formulation and/or culturally sensitive service integration impact outpatient mental health outcomes?
H1. Pre-service psychiatric symptoms of Hispanic adults will be significantly different from post-service psychiatric symptoms. (One-way ANOVA)
H2. Pre-service levels of functioning (GAF and Tier level scores) of Hispanic adults will be significantly different from post-service levels of functioning. (One-way ANOVA)
H3. Pre-service levels of employment of Hispanics adults will be significantly different from post-service levels of employment. (One-way ANOVA)
H4. Pre-service levels of age appropriate activities of Hispanics adults will be significantly different from post-service levels of age appropriate activities. (One-way ANOVA)
H5. Hispanic adults use of outpatient mental health services will be significantly less than use by Caucasian adults. (One-way ANOVA)
H6. Hispanic adults outpatient mental health outcomes will be significantly less than those of Caucasian adults. (One-way ANOVA)
H7. Increased levels of biopsychosocial and cultural formulation integration will be significantly related to increased use of service hours for Hispanic adults. (PearsonÆs r)
