My purpose is to persuade you not to talk on your cell phone while driving. The dangers of cell phones have been well documented, and the multiplied dangers of using them while driving are even more grim. What are the dangers? Exploding cell phones(possibly due to defective batteries(are more common than you would think, but they are only part of the problem. Cell phone radiation can cause pacemakers to malfunction; picture that happening while youÆre driving. Cell phone radiation penetrates deep into the brain, causing chromosomal damage(and there is a link between chromosomal damage and cancer. A number of studies show a statistically significant correlation between brain cancer deaths and cell phone use. What does this have to do with driving? The radiation dose you get while using your cell phone in your car is alarmingly high. According to David Morehouse, ôPlacing a cell phone call in your car is like sitting inside of a microwave oven. When you use the phone in the car, the shielding and tinting in newer automobiles causes the electromagnetic waves to bounce back and forth inside the cabin of the vehicle, exposing yourself and your passengers to increased levels of electromagnetic radiation.ö
