The purpose of motor development in children is to help them develop and coordinate deliberate and controlled movements that will require use of both muscle development and an eventual maturation of the central nervous system. These skills are necessary for an infant and eventually child to utilize and directly determine the extent of that child to experience and learn about the world. In this respect, the development of these skills is crucial to playing a central role in the development of the childÆs intelligence.
