Air Traffic Control Application Letter

All my life I have never had any problems with commitment. Commitment is what drove me to take my schooling seriously and ultimately develop a passion for science and technology. Commitment is what made me dissatisfied with merely wondering how something worked and actively pursue this information through both self-learning, schooling, and tinkering. Commitment is what has ultimately pushed me to endeavor to become an air traffic controller. In fact, it is very difficult to articulate the trajectory of my life without invoking this notion of commitment, for ultimately all my successes have been an extension of my commitment to myself and loved ones.

It is in this last regard, however, that I truly believe I stand apart. For although many people boast of their passion and commitment, not many recognize the dimension of responsibility inextricably bound to such commitments. In being committed to learning and self-improvement, I have held myself accountable, that is, acknowledged my responsibility to myself and my family. This aspect of personal commitment is especially prevalent in the field of air traffic control. Accepting this position, one not only undertakes and realizes their obligations to themselves and loved ones, but also to the safety of countless others. In being accountable to myself by accepting so critical a role in air traffic safety I become accountable to the passengers, the pilots, my employers, etc. I suppose I just understand what I'm getting in to. I don't take the position of air traffic controller or the corollary responsibilities lightly. This is my life and my passion, and what makes me most qualified for the job. Thank you.
