Along with the growth in Electronic Commerce over the past few years, there has been an increasing desire on the part of major corporations and small businesses to use the Internet as a channel of distribution.

Companies such as Amazon.com and Dell Computers are part of a growing segment of business that uses electronic commerce as their sole method for transacting with customers. Simultaneously, there is an increasing desire on the part of consumers to purchase items online (Greenstein, 1999).
